NJT Hiking Series Week 10

### NJT Hiking Series – Week 10 **Hartshorne Woods Park – Rocky Point Loop** Join us for Week 10 of the **NJT Hiking Series** as we explore Hartshorne Woods Park in Highlands, New Jersey. This hike takes us through wooded trails with views of the **Navesink River and Atlantic Ocean**. Along the way, we'll also pass historic **World War II bunkers** and the Black Fish Cove area. The Rocky Point Loop is approximately **2.7 miles** with about **350 feet of elevation gain**. The trail is rated moderate, with some rocky and steep sections, so comfortable hiking shoes are recommended. ### Hike Details 📅 **Date:** Sunday, August 17, 2026 ⏰ **Start Time:** 8:30 AM 📍 **Meeting Location:** Hartshorne Woods Park – Rocky Point Entrance **1402 Portland Rd, Highlands, NJ 07732** Please arrive by **8:20 AM** so we can get started on time. ### What to Bring * Comfortable hiking shoes * Water and a snack * Sunscreen and bug spray * Weather-appropriate clothing * Your phone with the AllTrails map downloaded for offline use **Families and kids are welcome.** Dogs are also welcome but must remain on a leash. Due to the trail conditions, strollers are not recommended.
